Dr. Dream # 3 is live!

This issue takes on some more serious aspects that ails our society. Being that this is an all ages book, I kept that in mind as I wrote this script. Can’t say it was easy though. I guess no writing project is, but because this one deals with some serious subjects, I wrestled with ‘should I keep this in?’ or ‘is that too much?’ or even ‘should I even be discussing this given what we’re going though?’ I almost didn’t even go through with this campaign given the violence our country is experiencing.

I remember remarking to my publisher Jason Dube as I was writing this book: “I’m probably going to lose some fans over this book.” I got some nice, encouraging words from Noel Serrato and James Burton and even included a few poignant ones from an old friend. In the end, I want everyone to be able to read this with the same sense of importance and awareness that I felt and then transform that into positive actions we can take towards others and ourselves.

One other cool bit of news is that my daughter Talia created some stickers of the Dr. Dream characters from Issue #2, and they are included in this campaign as an add on item. We also made these graphic into a t shirt as another add on item. Really proud of the work she did on these!

The campaign runs through August. Before you know it, issue #4 will be out cuz it’s already in production!
